Parque Lineal is a community-centered linear park proposal that transforms an underutilized corridor into a continuous public landscape for play, exercise, rest, and social interaction. Conceived as a flexible and inclusive urban system, the park prioritizes environmental resilience, accessibility, and everyday social life, weaving together green space and public infrastructure into a cohesive civic spine.
The design is organized along a clear linear sequence that supports multiple modes of use. Distinct yet interconnected zones—play areas, exercise stations, seating and social spaces, and observation points—are distributed along the length of the park to encourage movement, exploration, and gathering. Terraced landscapes negotiate changes in grade while creating informal seating, viewing platforms, and spaces for pause. These transitions allow the park to remain accessible to users of all ages and abilities, integrating ramps, gentle slopes, and clear circulation paths throughout.
Play structures and fitness elements are embedded directly into the landscape rather than isolated as standalone objects. This approach blurs the boundary between recreation and everyday movement, inviting spontaneous use and shared activity. Social seating areas are paired with planting and shade, fostering moments of rest, conversation, and community interaction. Observation zones frame views across the site and toward surrounding neighborhoods, reinforcing the park’s role as both a destination and a connector.
Material strategies emphasize durability, modularity, and adaptability, allowing the park to evolve over time in response to community needs. Green infrastructure and planting zones contribute to environmental performance while enhancing comfort and identity along the corridor. By layering recreation, ecology, and social space into a single linear system, the project proposes a sustainable public landscape that supports collective life and long-term community well-being.
