MOV.E will serve as a theoretical and technical support structure to the initiatives of MOV.EMENTS. We will tackle social, cultural, and political issues by understanding their context, what it means to represent them, and how to effectively intervene from a community-based approach.
MOV.EMENTS is a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment that fosters the exchange of knowledge and skills. As a team, we will select pressing topics to address and make an attempt at defining an effective process that involves experimentation, conversation, social and physical intervention, and critique.
MOV.E is an independent practice that uniquely blends architectural and art design with practical fabrication services. Their portfolio showcases a multifaceted approach, encompassing design, building, research, consulting, and media. This combination indicates a holistic engagement in both the creative and practical aspects of architectural projects. By integrating in-depth research and expert consulting with hands-on design and build processes, MOV.E caters to a wide range of needs in the field of architecture, interior design, real estate, and graphic design/experiential branding, offering comprehensive solutions from conceptualization to realization.
MOV.E extends its expertise in design and fabrication to the creation of interactive and immersive art installations. These installations blend artistic expression with technological innovation, offering engaging and transformative experiences. Their approach to art installations, characterized by interactivity and immersion, suggests a focus on creating spaces or objects that actively involve the audience, making them a part of the artwork itself. This aspect of their practice highlights their commitment to pushing the boundaries of conventional design and art, fostering a more dynamic and participatory form of artistic expression.
I have a passion for collaborative pursuits with the aspirations of driving forward design projects dependent on active participation and sensory stimulation. With a bachelor's and master's in architecture from UB School of Architecture and Planning, I’ve been pushing to further my research in understanding an intimate relationship of body, time, and space. These conditional experiments differ in their various scales of application as they explore notions through visualizations, material compositions, and spatial development.
My work prompts collaborative discussion of these active environments in order to understand, control, and generate design that requires feedback from body and environment. The digital space also networks various relationships of artistic practices as it displays architecture, artifact, music, and dance.
These investigations further emerge in my work as a faculty member in the School of Architecture & Planning.
